You Can’t Drink all Day if You Don’t Start in the Morning…

It’s a Key West tradition-doin’ the tourist thing by participating in the Duval Crawl.  A stop at Willie T’s for a mojito-complete with sugar cane is always a must.  My brother scored a tee with the proclamation that ‘you can’t drink all day, if you don’t start in the morning!’  While that may seem to be a festive and ambitious endeavor, my old self would be curled up on the very sidewalk if I tried!  I’ll leave that effort to the pros!

Did you hear that it’s National Cleaning Week!  Good Lord-says who?  Some man, most likely.  I love a clean house but can’t say I love to clean.  But a whole week?  Now that’s enough to make me curl up on the sidewalk….with a mojito!

Molly Malone…

As the annual (I think 20th.!) Sloth, Debauchery, and Indulgence Tour soldiers on, all parties were on deck for St. Paddie’s Day festivities.  After a traditional Reuben sandwich breakfast, we donned our colors and hit the high seas.  The beer was cold and the Irish music was loud as we barhopped around the Keys.

The Irish are a strong, fun loving people known as survivors; and I think we did them proud.  ‘Till next year.. Happy St. Paddy’s Day! ☘️

Sunrise, sunset…

 Sunrise, sunset.  Sunrise, sunset.

Swiftly fly the years.

One season following another,

Laden with happiness and tears.          (Bobby Vinton)

Viewing another perfect sunset with dear friends remind me more than ever that some aspects of life (and nature’s beauty) never change.  Through my immense sadness and grateful joy, there will always be the comfort and balance of the sunrise, sunsets, and friends to help me keep on an even keel. 💕

Get Into It…

Happy faces with full tummies!  Yellowtail snapper at Lazy Days was the perfect ending to our lazy pool day.  Thanks to Capt. Luis for the ‘hook up!’🐠

Enemy…

We made it-hallelujah!  We postponed departure date to the regular scheduled Thursday blizzard and instead, made it out on Saturday.  Dragging the boat made for three long days on the road.  Horrible gas mileage (and prices) made for many truck stop stations.  I continue to be enthralled by those places.  Yearning for a decent crossword puzzle, I was amazed to find NO newspapers; however a whole rack of potted meat was fully stocked.  Most places still fully and proudly display confederate flag merch and apparently truckers love their beanie babies, again, fully stocked.

Today I endured the necessary initial Publix torture as I filled an empty refrigerator.  I would rather dig a ditch than grocery shop.  Same goes for most malls.

I’ll take a good truck stop anyday-cuz sometimes you just need some dried up pizza, strong coffee, and a new beanie baby!

P.S.  I cannot gripe about my frivolous issues without fully recognizing my privilege.  I get it, this is just my silly side.  My heart and prayers go out to the country and people of Ukraine.  I admire their guts and heart as they risk their lives for things we take for granted.  Please let this tragedy end soon.
