Bite Me…

 Where did this week go?

After the soul sucking process of moving, time has just slipped by.  Suddenly it’s Thursday!  And you know what that can mean-24 to 48 hours of a possible snowstorm.  Isn’t this about the third Thursday we have endured this threat? It would have been slightly more amusing has the flakes descended on 2-22-22, but no…Thursday again.  Along with Bath City Bistro possibly closing early again and my salmon craving left hanging, we are also facing a delay in our departure.  When you are mentally ready and completely packed, this can seem devastating.  As a creature of routine, I have to totally rewire my process.  But yanking a boat thru two states with bad road conditions isn’t exactly how we want to make our escape.

I’ve broke the news to Hazel and she is sleeping it off on the windowsill.  Maybe there’s a lesson in that…no sense in stressing over things you can’t change.  See, that wonder cat is not so dumb after all.

Guess, I’ll follow suit and dream of mice and catnip.  WAIT!  Wrong dream.  See y’all five states south!

XOXO

The Motto…

Whew-are we busy...Moving to our condo, opening up a new location for our Lansing business, catching up on doc appointments, and preparing to haul a boat to the Keys-just to mention a few things.

The condo move is as crazy as moves can be-how in the world did we accumulate so much shizz?  We are trying for a true downsize, to live a bit simpler.  It's stressful as well as backbreaking as we haul heavy bins up and down stairs-especially in this frigid weather!  The Lansing bizz is fun for Randy but it is, well, in Lansing, making necessary trips at this time, not very convenient.  Adding air shocks to prepare the truck to pull the boat also is a kerfluffle but a needed one.  Randy's lung rechecks went very well and his lung doc is very pleased with his progress.  It's been a haul, but he has worked hard on his therapy, and it shows!

Next week we will make our getaway and two to three days in the truck will allow for decompression for us.  Well, for me anyway as I read, do crosswords and nap.  Randy and his lap co-pilot, Hazel, (The one-eyed wonder cat!) will do all the serious stuff.  And I will watch for snack exits.

I try very hard not to wish the days away, they go by too fast anyways.  but sometimes.... it's fun to dream.  Slower Keys daze and warm weather is coming soon, and I can't wait! 😎

But I am determined to enjoy the ride!

Meet me at our Spot…

Meet Henry-my favorite muscle head at the gym!  Henry is a rescue from the mean streets of Detroit that got adopted and put to work as the official Powerhouse Gym mascot.  He seems to love his new position, proudly trotting around like the boss that he is.  He loves the ladies and generously gives out kisses (and sniffs) to us all.  His Mom, Susan, keeps him in check and his training is going well although my shrieking, “HENRY” when I see him may slightly throw the lesson off!  I love dogs and happy to be able to share this big, loveable hunk.

That is all…just me, mushin’ on Henry.  Have a great week and if you are lucky enough to get a slobbery dog kiss, doggonit, you are lucky enough!  X🐶X
