Sit Still, Look Pretty...

was the order from Randy as he snapped this pic of me and Cheryl last Saturday. 

Hours of work earlier gleaned us this refurbished tiki bar and Sissy and I were only to happy to plop down with a glass of vino to reward ourselves.  Our bar was in serious need of a facelift and now it's ready to rock out another summer.  Dig the groovy pirate ship I scored at the local thrift for two bucks!   My favorite holiday is looming and we are expecting a hoard of company for the usual shenanigans.  Barbeque, boating, bonfire, beer, stargazing and s'mores are what we do.  Just hope the weather holds out for all these activities.

Till then, these old mermaids need a refill!  See you all next week-enjoy the holiday. xo

Starfish and Coffee...

At boxing class last week I had to once again remind HottyToddy (our instructor) that I do not have the chutzpah to do a thousand burpees.  Yes burpees-the bane of my existence.  You know, those torturous moves that start innocently enough and then work into a push up and then a jump up.  Fuggitabout it!  First off my old lady bladder does not allow for that much jumping and will send me off to the ladies room p.d.q.  And secondly, I feel it's time to honor my spine.  Try as I might to watch my form, burpees still hurt my back.  And besides, what boxer bothers with the damn things anyway?  I'd rather hit the bag, and run a sprint. 

Or eat pizza.  Yes, eat pizza.  And then maybe 'burpee' a little.

Champions...

Sigh...It's pretty hard for me to be my usual frivolous self given the tragedy in Orlando.  Just can't do it.  Please keep in mind the deep sadness of the family and friends of the victims.  I am still processing this senseless tragedy and pray that the world can grow in compassion and tolerance. xo
