Little Sister...

I was five when she was born and I learned that I was about to have a little sister.  This tiny ginger was my real life baby doll.  She was later my comrade and partner in crime. (And there were many!) She’s now all that AND my best friend.

And today is her birthday!

Lisa is my perfect travel buddy and even dragged my to Dubai for the time of my life.  When I’m not with her, she gifts me with thoughtful goodies.  We crack each other up and have the same sense of humor.  Her smile can light up a room.  We enjoy the simple things-pizza, a good cocktail, and even a tramp thru the woods searching for morels.

I could go on and on about her green thumb, cooking skills, etc, but she’s modest and probably already is gonna kill me for this!  She is fiercely loyal and would take a bullet for me-and I wold for her.

So if you get a chance, wish her Happy Birthday!  I love you, Little Sister.  XO

Salt, Sun and Time...

 I love salt.

Salt air, salt water, salty chips and salt of the rim of my margarita!  All these salty pursuits were in full force at the Sand Bar Sunday Celebration, and I was all about it.

Also I love to think of myself as 'salty'- defined as having a tougher attitude due to personal experience. That's me-all day.  If you can't take life's lessons and move forward, what are you?  Less than a grain of salt?

'Stay Salty', my friends.  XOXO

Reunited...

ðŸŽ¶ and it feels so good!  I was lonesome for my girl, so much that we hauled our cookies, including Hazel, up to Ft. Myers beach for a little spring break beach action.  Old folks style..... (well, me anyway...)

I personally have moved into the senior spring break scene more like a 'senior (citizen) spring breaker.  Observation from the beachhouse deck was the perfect place to watch the antics of the kids.  No cheap beer for us-we swilled our cocktails and got an eyeful.

As I have moved into more modest swim bottoms, I noticed that exposed buttocks are still a thing.  Chickies strutted by proudly displaying and sunning their buns.  I love beach volleyball, but spared them all my lousy serve and my inability to jump more than two inches in the sand.

Yes, there were Adonis-like dudes to ogle, but Kristin and I were far more entertained by the various puppers lazing about.  As we strolled the beach, we petted and baby talked to as many pooches as possible.  Far more entertaining!

We hit the early bird dinner to avoid the crowds-something I used to make fun of.  Now it seems perfectly logical!  Action on the boardwalk/pier was just heating up co-incidentally as we were winding down.  Sun and booze can wear an old chick out!

Been there, done that-bought the tee shirt, bought the hat.

And I'm cool with it!

Thanks to my BFF's, Kristin and Bob (see, I'm still cool!) for letting us in on all the action.  We love you guys!💕

See a Victory...

As we celebrated Easter Sunday, Keys style, I am reminded of the beauty of renewal, faith, and triumph.

With friends and neighbors we dined on spaghetti and meatballs, shrimp dip and Key Lime pie while never forgetting for a moment how fortunate we are to be here, surrounded by beautiful nature.

Salt air has always been known for it's healing properties and Randy can surely attest to that fact!  Since we have been here, his healing has been amazing.  We hauled down a big oxygen machine as well as 8 portable tanks in anticipation of their use.  But within a few days, his improvement was quickly obvious.  No oxygen-even at night!  No need for the tanks!  Stairs that were a big challenge are now much easier.  He can swim underwater for two laps without any need for breathing recovery.  His skin tone is glowing and he is gaining back some of the muscle he lost.  He is rarely even coughing.

The Easter season gives us all hope that with faith, things (even lungs!) can be renewed.  Look for your own little 'miracles'-they are there!  XOXO
