Monday Dreamin' Green...

Are we feeling normal yet?  Are we moving in that direction?  What's the expected fallout of the pandemic? (media made up word!)

Talk of depression and Covid PTSD..the death of small business due to online shopping...deteriorating social skills...fear...division...distrust...etc.

What a year (plus) it's been.  I cannot think of one good thing that has come due to the virus.  I can only see an overall stifling of our culture, along with the horrible death total.  I understand being 'safe' but it seems to have been forgotten that if you aren't coughing or sneezing, you can't spread the virus.  I mentioned that fact to the manatee but he insisted on it anyway-his choice!

And thank goodness, by July 01, it will be officially over.   Unless you are coughing and sneezing...

Have a great week, get outside and take a big, deep breath...we made it!

The Sad River...

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend while taking a moment to pause and give thanks, prayer, respect and wonderment to the brave service people and service puppers that gave all so that we could have our freedom.  They gave what I could never have the guts to do.

Our weekend included the perfect mix of food, family and friends.  The kick off to summer has officially began and I just hope it doesn't fly by too fast.  I want it all to slow down so I can remember to stop and smell the bonfire, as well as count my blessings.

Sadly, I read with horror the story describing the discovery of 215 Indigenous children's bodies in British Columbia.  In an attempt to strip the children of their culture and language, they were forced to attend school, where they met their death.  How could this have even happened?  What is wrong with people?  I do not yet understand the details but I am sickened all the same.

So, it was a bittersweet holiday with Veteran's and those children on my mind.   Please remember those poor children and their families in your prayers as well as our Veterans.

Until next week, my Lovelies.  XO

Come Through...

Meet Lux!  Lux D. (As in Dale!) Luxe-my sweet replacement for a seriously injured Berry Manilow.  My brother, salesman extraordinaire, was able to pull off a smoke and mirror trick with a side of  automotive shell game.  The result is this sweet girl with a bangin’ bod and skin like porcelain.  I am looking forward to some serious girl time in our travels.

The moral of this silly story?  Sometimes in a bad situation, you just have to look for a silver-or in this case ‘white lining.’  White with just a touch of sparkle!  XO

Crash into Me...

If you saw me standing on the side of I94 holding my one-eyed cat, I was not lost or 'losing it.'  Here's the tea...

Hazel (the one eyed wonder cat) and I were rear ended on Friday.  We were uninjured, but poor Berry Manilow is at the doctors for more intensive cosmetic surgery.  I'm not sure if the other Barry has ever had his rear end fixed, but my Berry is in for a major fluff up.

Being rear ended is one of my worst nightmares come true.  I have long feared that very event and always leave ample room between me and the vehicle I am following.  But men...that's apparently a problem.  And don't you know, it was a man that plowed into me.  I harp at Randy if he even gets close to the car ahead.  The struggle is real...

As in most cases, it could have been worse.  The Police officer could not have been any nicer and the tow truck driver was also very helpful. Insurance and auto body shop were fast and efficient.  Randy came quickly and scooped us up.   My back and neck were only sore for a few days and Hazel is recovering nicely from her Post Traumatic Stupid Driver Syndrome.  Berry will heal and be as good as new and life will go on.

I just have one question-where was Geoffrey Fieger or Mike Morris when ya need them?  Hazel might want to file a case!

Have a safe week, Dolls.  XO

We're Good...

I'm home..at it feels great.  I love the Keys, but I'm always happy to get back.  (Except this weather!)

I've been busy with all the usual tasks of unpacking, groceries, laundry etc.  And I am beat.  Then I see on the news (I've barely watched TV in 2 months!) that is 'National Clean Your Room Day.'

Like I need that pressure...  I swapped out all winter duds for my summer clothes and that's as far as I'm going today.  Luckily I do not need to finish the job before I can 'go outside and play.'   Instead, I'm just gonna haul my tired biscuit to bed and hope the weather warms up enough for me to wear flip flops.

See you next week when I've got my 'ish' together!  XO

Float On...

What do you do when you spot a doggo-in a hat and sunscreen, floating on a raft at the sandbar?  Well, you just back up, set your cup down and swim on over, to snoop things out!

I learned that Angel was rescued from the Bahamas by a loving family who slathers on the sunscreen as well as a custom hat to prevent her pink skin from burning.  She happily rides on her float, soaking up the sun and attention from crazy dog-lovin’ admirers-like me.  I also found out that this little sea dog is my neighbor-bonus!

Leaving for Michigan this week and looking forward to our dog days of summer.  See you next year sweet puppers and don’t forget the SPF!  XO
